We have a scholarship fund specifically for ROAR Revival Camp registrants called the Mya Baez Scholarship Fund. Should scholarship funds become available we will send out information to our announcement list. Be sure to sign-up for the list by entering your e-mail below.

Additionally, be sure to contact your home church about scholarships for their registrants or information about possible support towards raising funds. NewSong Church registrants should also communicate with staff and leaders about the same type of opportunities and plans for our registrants and vice versa.

WHAT ABOUT CELL PHONES?

If your youth has a cell phone, they will be leaving them in their dorms during the day time activities. We do not want anyone’s phones destroyed by messy activities and sports, and we want to focus on connection with God, with each other, and not the internet! Youth are encouraged to use their device during meal times, to connect with you and let you know all about what God is doing in them and through them at camp! If you need to get a hold of your youth for emergency reasons outside of the specified meal times, please contact the emergency contact your church has provided you or any listed in the following section. NOTE: Electric devices deemed inappropriate for retreat will be held by retreat staff and returned the day of departure. NewSong Church is not responsible for lost or damaged items.

WHAT IF I OR MY REGISTRANT GETS SICK?

Please also refer to the NEWSONG TERMS, CONDITIONS, & WAIVERS that was signed upon completion of registration.

IMPORTANT MEDICAL FORMS

  • Medication Administration Authorization Form (required for those needing medication while at the camp). Please upload that form to your registration account HERE so that it will be on file for the nurse at camp.
  • Camper Health History Form (optional however strongly suggested). Please upload that form to your registration account HERE so that it will be on file for the nurse at camp. Please fill out this form so that the camp nurse can have yours or your registrants medical info in the event that it may be needed.

We will contact parents/guardians of attendee registrants:

  • When attendee registrants have significant illness or injury (that precludes them from participating at the retreat). Parents/guardians will be notified by phone to arrange timely pick-up.
  • When attendee registrants incur a serious injury or ailment and if appropriate, needs to be transported—either by staff vehicle or ambulance—to the nearest hospital.

We WILL NOT contact you when:

  • Your attendee registrant is receiving care for routine infirmary care such as treatment of non-infected bug bites, bumps, scratches, bruises, or is mildly ill or injured. When appropriate and under usual circumstances, and through consultation with the first-aid staff, attendee registrants may return to retreat activities after they recover from their injury or illness.

Medication:

  • The first-aid staff administers attendee registrants medication when necessary and under usual circumstances. In cases such as these retreat staff will do it's best to contact the parent/guardian of the attendee registrant before medication is administered with the guidance of a medical professional.
  • Please note that if an attendee registrant requires an Epipen or inhaler, or any other regularly used medication, parents must provide it with clear directions and with written permission that retreat staff has permission to administer it. Please see the forms at the start of this section.

LICE AND BED BUGS:

  • Parent/Guardians, Leaders, and Attendees: All registrants must be clear of lice or have had at least 48 hours of lice treatment in order to check-in at the retreat. Please check each registrant prior to commuting to the retreat venue. We recommend a head check of each registrant as they enter into the vehicles being used to travel to Virginia State University.
  • Parent/Guardians, Leaders, and Attendees: No registrants will be permitted to join the retreat if under the infestation of bed bugs.

HOME FOLLOW UP

When your young people come back home branded by the spirit of revival, please allow room in your home for them to share their impartation with you! We believe making space in your family life for these testimonies and encounters is a strategy from heaven to make sure your children’s lives are connected to the heartbeat of what’s going on in your family culture. We are full of anticipation for all that God is going to do in this coming week! Thank you for being a part of it!
