October Newsletter - Season III
October: the peace of god
Take a moment to consider this month’s Recollect verse: “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7 NIV
To stay connected, text NEWS to 703.972.6688 for church-wide updates and monthly newsletter reminders.

October Recollect
Memorize one verse each month with us, building a store of Scripture to call on when it matters most. This month, we are memorizing Philippians 4:6-7 NIV. Text RECOLLECT to 703.972.6688 to get the verse monthly!
Heart for the House
Would you consider joining us as we work toward raising the funds needed to support our building, ministries, and community throughout 2027? Your generosity helps make it possible for NewSong to continue creating spaces for people to worship, grow, serve, and connect. Text HEART to 703.972.6688 for more info!
Community Care
From welcoming new babies to walking through sudden emergencies, needs are always arising within our community—and one of the simplest ways we can care for one another is by providing a meal. If you love helping in practical ways and would like to be notified when someone in our community could use a meal, text MEALS to 703.972.6688.
Pastor Appreciation Month
We’re so blessed to have our pastors and the genuine care they have for our church community. There’s so much they pour into our church—much of it happening behind the scenes—and we want to take some time this month to intentionally cover them in prayer.
As we’re focusing on prayer together as a community, what better time to put it into practice? Text GRATITUDE to 703.972.6688 to choose a day to commit to praying for one (or all!) of our pastors, and to get some ideas for ways you can bless and encourage them throughout the month.
Holy Hour
Turn off the noise. Turn on the prayer. Join us for Holy Hour from 6-7am on Friday, October 9th. Text HOLY to 703.972.6688 for monthly reminders.
Come to the Table: Young Adult Day Retreat
Whatever season you’re in, there’s room for you here. Join us for a day of conversation · worship · reflection · and community as we make space for God in the ordinary. Text SEAT to 703.972.6688 for more details.
YBH: Newcomers Reception
New to NewSong and curious to learn more? We’d love for you to join us after service on October 18th for light refreshments and a space to connect with members of our staff and community! Text BELONG to 703.972.6688 to RSVP.
Envision
Have you attended a Newcomers Reception and are ready to get more involved in serving our community? We’d love to invite you to Envision after service on Sunday, October 25! In this class, we’ll explore four key aspects of NewSong and give you a fuller picture of who we are, what we value, and how you can find your place in our church community. Light refreshments will be provided. We hope to see you there! Text ENVISION to 703.972.6688 to RSVP.
